5But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.
-Psalm 13:5-6
The Psalmist King David cries out to God in his suffering, “how long Lord?” (V1,2) How long will you allow my enemies to come against me? How long will you allow me to struggle in my trials?
What formidable foe is trying to overcome you? A sickness? A broken relationship? A wayward child? A daunting challenge? An addiction?
Try saying with your lips, “I trust in your unfailing love,” and then allow your heart to follow. Try exercising gratitude for the ways God has blessed you in the past and present.
Gratitude and praise help overcome our consuming fears. Our trials may continue for a time, but we shall not be overcome. Jesus wins.
