“but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” -Isaiah 40:31,32

The goats in this photo joined us on the Wadi Kelt- the road to Jericho through the wilderness on my last Israel Study Tour in May. The Wadi Kelts path sometimes narrows to 3 feet wide, with a steep cliff to your right and rocky terrain to your left.
But the goats leap and traverse the trail and cliffs with ease like it’s a normal stroll.
This experience reminded me that I need to lean into our Heavenly Father and rest on His direction, presence and strength like our goat friends.
We need the strength of God to walk the path and weather the storms and challenges life throws our way.
When we lean unto Him for our strength, and catch His breeze, He enables us to soar like eagles and not just limp through life weary or faint. I am not saying naively that things will become easy or that life will be without its heartaches by trusting the Lord. In fact, when we follow Him we may even experience more hardships. But it’s a far better footing to walk the path.
Leaning on Him provides a reliable source of provision of peace, resilience, hope, joy, and internal abundance. Soaring like an eagle is an amazing visual- Majestic sight. Eagles fly high and have different perspective than all of the creatures below.
May we abide in Him this day. He is all we need to live in this world.
Where could you use His strength today?
